تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّ
May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, and may he perish!
Thorns · al-Masad · سورة المسد · 5 ayahs
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
مَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُ مَالُهُ وَمَا كَسَبَ
His wealth did not avail him, nor what he earned.
سَيَصْلَىٰ نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ
He will burn in a fire of blazing flame.
وَامْرَأَتُهُ حَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَبِ
And his wife, the carrier of firewood.
فِي جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِنْ مَسَدٍ
Around her neck is a rope of twisted fiber.
