In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.

الم

Alif Lam Mim.

The revelation of the Book, in which there is no doubt, is from the Lord of all worlds.

Or do they say, “He fabricated it”? Rather, it is the truth from your Lord, so that you may warn a people to whom no warner came before you, that they may be guided.

God is the One who created the heavens and the earth and everything between them in six days, then rose over the Throne. You have no protector and no intercessor apart from Him. Will you not then remember?

He directs every matter from the heaven to the earth; then it ascends to Him in a day whose measure is a thousand years by your counting.

That is the Knower of the unseen and the seen, the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful.

He who perfected everything He created, and began the creation of man from clay.

Then He made his offspring from an extract of worthless fluid.

Then He shaped him and breathed into him of His spirit, and made for you hearing, sight, and hearts. Little do you give thanks.

They say, “When we have dissolved into the earth, will we truly be in a new creation?” Rather, they are deniers of the meeting with their Lord.

Say, “The Angel of Death, who has been assigned to you, will take your souls in full. Then to your Lord you will be returned.”

If only you could see when the criminals hang their heads before their Lord: “Our Lord, we have seen and we have heard, so send us back and we will do good. We are now certain.”

Had We willed, We could have given every soul its guidance, but the word from Me has come due: “I will surely fill Hell with jinn and humans altogether.”

So taste, because you forgot the meeting of this Day of yours. We have forgotten you. Taste the punishment of eternity for what you used to do.

Only those believe in Our verses who, when reminded by them, fall down in prostration and glorify their Lord with praise, and they are not arrogant.

Their sides forsake their beds, calling upon their Lord in fear and hope, and from what We have provided them they spend.

No soul knows what has been hidden for them of delight of the eyes, as recompense for what they used to do.

Is one who believed like one who was defiantly disobedient? They are not equal.

As for those who believed and did righteous deeds, for them are the Gardens of Refuge as hospitality for what they used to do.

But as for those who defiantly disobeyed, their refuge is the Fire. Every time they try to escape it, they are thrown back in, and they are told, “Taste the punishment of the Fire that you used to deny.”

We will make them taste the lesser punishment before the greater punishment, so that perhaps they will return.

Who is more unjust than one who is reminded of his Lord’s verses and then turns away from them? Truly, We will take vengeance on the criminals.

We gave Moses the Book, so do not be in doubt about meeting Him, and We made it a guidance for the Children of Israel.

We appointed from among them leaders who guided by Our command when they were patient, and they were certain of Our signs.

Surely your Lord — it is He who will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning what they used to differ over.

Has it not become clear to them how many generations We destroyed before them, in whose dwellings they now walk? Surely in that are signs. Will they not listen?

Have they not seen that We drive water to the barren land and bring out crops from which their livestock and they themselves eat? Will they not see?

They say, “When is this verdict, if you are truthful?”

Say, “On the Day of the Verdict, the faith of those who disbelieved will not benefit them, nor will they be given respite.”

So turn away from them and wait. They too are waiting.
