أَلْهَاكُمُ التَّكَاثُرُ
Rivalry in amassing distracted you.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
حَتَّىٰ زُرْتُمُ الْمَقَابِرَ
Until you visited the graves.
كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ
No! You will come to know.
ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ
Then no! You will come to know.
كَلَّا لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عِلْمَ الْيَقِينِ
No! If only you knew with the knowledge of certainty.
لَتَرَوُنَّ الْجَحِيمَ
You will surely see the Blazing Fire.
ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ الْيَقِينِ
Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty.
ثُمَّ لَتُسْأَلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ النَّعِيمِ
Then on that Day you will surely be questioned about every pleasure.
