١اقْتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَابُهُمْ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مُعْرِضُونَ

1The reckoning for mankind has drawn near, yet they turn away in heedlessness.

٢مَا يَأْتِيهِمْ مِنْ ذِكْرٍ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا اسْتَمَعُوهُ وَهُمْ يَلْعَبُونَ

2No new reminder comes to them from their Lord but they listen to it while they play.

٣لَاهِيَةً قُلُوبُهُمْ ۗ وَأَسَرُّوا النَّجْوَى الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا هَلْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِثْلُكُمْ ۖ أَفَتَأْتُونَ السِّحْرَ وَأَنْتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ

3Their hearts distracted. Those who wronged whispered among themselves, “Is this anything but a mortal like you? Will you fall for sorcery with your eyes wide open?”

٤قَالَ رَبِّي يَعْلَمُ الْقَوْلَ فِي السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

4He said, “My Lord knows every word spoken in the heaven and the earth, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.”

٥بَلْ قَالُوا أَضْغَاثُ أَحْلَامٍ بَلِ افْتَرَاهُ بَلْ هُوَ شَاعِرٌ فَلْيَأْتِنَا بِآيَةٍ كَمَا أُرْسِلَ الْأَوَّلُونَ

5Rather, they said, “Jumbled dreams!” Rather, “He fabricated it!” Rather, “He is a poet! Let him bring us a miracle as the earlier ones were sent with.”

٦مَا آمَنَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ مِنْ قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَاهَا ۖ أَفَهُمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ

6Not one town that We destroyed before them believed — will these then believe?

٧وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا قَبْلَكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًا نُوحِي إِلَيْهِمْ ۖ فَاسْأَلُوا أَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

7We sent before you only men to whom We revealed — so ask the people of knowledge if you do not know.

٨وَمَا جَعَلْنَاهُمْ جَسَدًا لَا يَأْكُلُونَ الطَّعَامَ وَمَا كَانُوا خَالِدِينَ

8We did not make them bodies that did not eat food, nor were they immortal.

٩ثُمَّ صَدَقْنَاهُمُ الْوَعْدَ فَأَنْجَيْنَاهُمْ وَمَنْ نَشَاءُ وَأَهْلَكْنَا الْمُسْرِفِينَ

9Then We fulfilled the promise to them, and We saved them and whomever We willed, and We destroyed the transgressors.

١٠لَقَدْ أَنْزَلْنَا إِلَيْكُمْ كِتَابًا فِيهِ ذِكْرُكُمْ ۖ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

10Certainly We have sent down to you a Book in which is your remembrance — will you not reason?

١١وَكَمْ قَصَمْنَا مِنْ قَرْيَةٍ كَانَتْ ظَالِمَةً وَأَنْشَأْنَا بَعْدَهَا قَوْمًا آخَرِينَ

11How many a wrongdoing town We shattered and raised after it another people.

١٢فَلَمَّا أَحَسُّوا بَأْسَنَا إِذَا هُمْ مِنْهَا يَرْكُضُونَ

12When they sensed Our might, they fled from it.

١٣لَا تَرْكُضُوا وَارْجِعُوا إِلَىٰ مَا أُتْرِفْتُمْ فِيهِ وَمَسَاكِنِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسْأَلُونَ

13“Do not flee! Return to the luxury you were given and to your dwellings, so that you may be questioned.”

١٤قَالُوا يَا وَيْلَنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ

14They said, “O woe to us! We were wrongdoers!”

١٥فَمَا زَالَتْ تِلْكَ دَعْوَاهُمْ حَتَّىٰ جَعَلْنَاهُمْ حَصِيدًا خَامِدِينَ

15That remained their cry until We made them a harvest, still and lifeless.

١٦وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاءَ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَاعِبِينَ

16We did not create the heaven and the earth and what is between them in play.

١٧لَوْ أَرَدْنَا أَنْ نَتَّخِذَ لَهْوًا لَاتَّخَذْنَاهُ مِنْ لَدُنَّا إِنْ كُنَّا فَاعِلِينَ

17Had We wished to take a pastime, We would have taken it from Ourselves, if We were to do so at all.

١٨بَلْ نَقْذِفُ بِالْحَقِّ عَلَى الْبَاطِلِ فَيَدْمَغُهُ فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٌ ۚ وَلَكُمُ الْوَيْلُ مِمَّا تَصِفُونَ

18Rather, We hurl the truth against falsehood and it crushes its skull, and at once it perishes. And woe to you for what you ascribe.

١٩وَلَهُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ وَمَنْ عِنْدَهُ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهِ وَلَا يَسْتَحْسِرُونَ

19To Him belongs whoever is in the heavens and the earth. And those in His presence are never too proud to worship Him, nor do they tire.

٢٠يُسَبِّحُونَ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ لَا يَفْتُرُونَ

20They glorify Him night and day, never flagging.

٢١أَمِ اتَّخَذُوا آلِهَةً مِنَ الْأَرْضِ هُمْ يُنْشِرُونَ

21Or have they taken gods from the earth who can raise the dead?

٢٢لَوْ كَانَ فِيهِمَا آلِهَةٌ إِلَّا اللَّهُ لَفَسَدَتَا ۚ فَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَرْشِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ

22Had there been gods in them besides God, both would have been ruined. So glory be to God, Lord of the Throne, far above what they ascribe.

٢٣لَا يُسْأَلُ عَمَّا يَفْعَلُ وَهُمْ يُسْأَلُونَ

23He is not questioned about what He does, but they will be questioned.

٢٤أَمِ اتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِهِ آلِهَةً ۖ قُلْ هَاتُوا بُرْهَانَكُمْ ۖ هَٰذَا ذِكْرُ مَنْ مَعِيَ وَذِكْرُ مَنْ قَبْلِي ۗ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ الْحَقَّ ۖ فَهُمْ مُعْرِضُونَ

24Or have they taken gods besides Him? Say, “Bring your proof. This is the reminder of those with me and the reminder of those before me.” But most of them do not know the truth, so they turn away.

٢٥وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِكَ مِنْ رَسُولٍ إِلَّا نُوحِي إِلَيْهِ أَنَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنَا فَاعْبُدُونِ

25We sent no messenger before you except that We revealed to him: “There is no god but Me, so worship Me.”

٢٦وَقَالُوا اتَّخَذَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ وَلَدًا ۗ سُبْحَانَهُ ۚ بَلْ عِبَادٌ مُكْرَمُونَ

26They say, “The Most Merciful has taken a son.” Glory be to Him! Rather, they are honored servants.

٢٧لَا يَسْبِقُونَهُ بِالْقَوْلِ وَهُمْ بِأَمْرِهِ يَعْمَلُونَ

27They do not precede Him in speech, and they act by His command.

٢٨يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلَا يَشْفَعُونَ إِلَّا لِمَنِ ارْتَضَىٰ وَهُمْ مِنْ خَشْيَتِهِ مُشْفِقُونَ

28He knows what is before them and what is behind them, and they do not intercede except for one He approves, and they tremble in awe of Him.

٢٩وَمَنْ يَقُلْ مِنْهُمْ إِنِّي إِلَٰهٌ مِنْ دُونِهِ فَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِيهِ جَهَنَّمَ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الظَّالِمِينَ

29Whoever among them says, “I am a god besides Him” — that one We will repay with Hell. That is how We repay the wrongdoers.

٣٠أَوَلَمْ يَرَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَنَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ كَانَتَا رَتْقًا فَفَتَقْنَاهُمَا ۖ وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ الْمَاءِ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ حَيٍّ ۖ أَفَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ

30Have those who disbelieved not seen that the heavens and the earth were a joined mass, then We split them apart? And We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?

٣١وَجَعَلْنَا فِي الْأَرْضِ رَوَاسِيَ أَنْ تَمِيدَ بِهِمْ وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا فِجَاجًا سُبُلًا لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ

31We placed firm mountains in the earth so it would not sway with them, and We made in it wide pathways so they might find their way.

٣٢وَجَعَلْنَا السَّمَاءَ سَقْفًا مَحْفُوظًا ۖ وَهُمْ عَنْ آيَاتِهَا مُعْرِضُونَ

32We made the sky a protected canopy, yet they turn away from its signs.

٣٣وَهُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ وَالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ ۖ كُلٌّ فِي فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ

33He is the One who created the night and the day, the sun and the moon — each gliding in an orbit.

٣٤وَمَا جَعَلْنَا لِبَشَرٍ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ الْخُلْدَ ۖ أَفَإِنْ مِتَّ فَهُمُ الْخَالِدُونَ

34We never granted immortality to any human before you. If you die, will they live forever?

٣٥كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ ۗ وَنَبْلُوكُمْ بِالشَّرِّ وَالْخَيْرِ فِتْنَةً ۖ وَإِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ

35Every soul will taste death. We test you with evil and good as a trial, and to Us you will be returned.

٣٦وَإِذَا رَآكَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِنْ يَتَّخِذُونَكَ إِلَّا هُزُوًا أَهَٰذَا الَّذِي يَذْكُرُ آلِهَتَكُمْ وَهُمْ بِذِكْرِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ هُمْ كَافِرُونَ

36When those who disbelieve see you, they only take you in mockery: “Is this the one who speaks against your gods?” Yet they themselves deny the mention of the Most Merciful.

٣٧خُلِقَ الْإِنْسَانُ مِنْ عَجَلٍ ۚ سَأُرِيكُمْ آيَاتِي فَلَا تَسْتَعْجِلُونِ

37Man was created from haste. I will show you My signs, so do not rush Me.

٣٨وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا الْوَعْدُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ

38They say, “When will this promise come, if you are truthful?”

٣٩لَوْ يَعْلَمُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا حِينَ لَا يَكُفُّونَ عَنْ وُجُوهِهِمُ النَّارَ وَلَا عَنْ ظُهُورِهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنْصَرُونَ

39If only those who disbelieve knew the time when they will not be able to ward off the Fire from their faces or from their backs, nor will they be helped.

٤٠بَلْ تَأْتِيهِمْ بَغْتَةً فَتَبْهَتُهُمْ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ رَدَّهَا وَلَا هُمْ يُنْظَرُونَ

40Rather, it will come upon them suddenly and stun them, and they will not be able to repel it, nor will they be given respite.

٤١وَلَقَدِ اسْتُهْزِئَ بِرُسُلٍ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ فَحَاقَ بِالَّذِينَ سَخِرُوا مِنْهُمْ مَا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ

41Messengers before you were mocked, but what they mocked closed in on those who ridiculed them.

٤٢قُلْ مَنْ يَكْلَؤُكُمْ بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ مِنَ الرَّحْمَٰنِ ۗ بَلْ هُمْ عَنْ ذِكْرِ رَبِّهِمْ مُعْرِضُونَ

42Say, “Who guards you by night and by day from the Most Merciful?” Yet they turn away from the remembrance of their Lord.

٤٣أَمْ لَهُمْ آلِهَةٌ تَمْنَعُهُمْ مِنْ دُونِنَا ۚ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَ أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ مِنَّا يُصْحَبُونَ

43Or do they have gods that protect them apart from Us? They cannot help themselves, nor will they be protected from Us.

٤٤بَلْ مَتَّعْنَا هَٰؤُلَاءِ وَآبَاءَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ طَالَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْعُمُرُ ۗ أَفَلَا يَرَوْنَ أَنَّا نَأْتِي الْأَرْضَ نَنْقُصُهَا مِنْ أَطْرَافِهَا ۚ أَفَهُمُ الْغَالِبُونَ

44Rather, We gave these people and their fathers enjoyment until life grew long for them. Do they not see that We come upon the land, shrinking it from its edges? Are they then the victors?

٤٥قُلْ إِنَّمَا أُنْذِرُكُمْ بِالْوَحْيِ ۚ وَلَا يَسْمَعُ الصُّمُّ الدُّعَاءَ إِذَا مَا يُنْذَرُونَ

45Say, “I only warn you through revelation.” But the deaf do not hear the call when they are warned.

٤٦وَلَئِنْ مَسَّتْهُمْ نَفْحَةٌ مِنْ عَذَابِ رَبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ يَا وَيْلَنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ

46If even a whiff of your Lord’s punishment touched them, they would surely say, “Woe to us! We were truly wrongdoers!”

٤٧وَنَضَعُ الْمَوَازِينَ الْقِسْطَ لِيَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ فَلَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌ شَيْئًا ۖ وَإِنْ كَانَ مِثْقَالَ حَبَّةٍ مِنْ خَرْدَلٍ أَتَيْنَا بِهَا ۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِنَا حَاسِبِينَ

47We will set up the scales of justice for the Day of Resurrection, and no soul will be wronged in the least. Even if it is the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it. And We are sufficient as reckoners.

٤٨وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَهَارُونَ الْفُرْقَانَ وَضِيَاءً وَذِكْرًا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ

48Truly We gave Moses and Aaron the Criterion, and a light, and a reminder for the God-conscious.

٤٩الَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ بِالْغَيْبِ وَهُمْ مِنَ السَّاعَةِ مُشْفِقُونَ

49Those who fear their Lord in the unseen, and who dread the Hour.

٥٠وَهَٰذَا ذِكْرٌ مُبَارَكٌ أَنْزَلْنَاهُ ۚ أَفَأَنْتُمْ لَهُ مُنْكِرُونَ

50And this is a blessed reminder We have sent down. Will you then deny it?

٥١وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ رُشْدَهُ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا بِهِ عَالِمِينَ

51We had already given Abraham his right guidance before, and We were Knowing of him.

٥٢إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِ مَا هَٰذِهِ التَّمَاثِيلُ الَّتِي أَنْتُمْ لَهَا عَاكِفُونَ

52When he said to his father and his people, “What are these statues to which you are devoted?”

٥٣قَالُوا وَجَدْنَا آبَاءَنَا لَهَا عَابِدِينَ

53They said, “We found our fathers worshiping them.”

٥٤قَالَ لَقَدْ كُنْتُمْ أَنْتُمْ وَآبَاؤُكُمْ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ

54He said, “Certainly you and your fathers have been in clear error.”

٥٥قَالُوا أَجِئْتَنَا بِالْحَقِّ أَمْ أَنْتَ مِنَ اللَّاعِبِينَ

55They said, “Have you brought us the truth, or are you jesting?”

٥٦قَالَ بَلْ رَبُّكُمْ رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ الَّذِي فَطَرَهُنَّ وَأَنَا عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكُمْ مِنَ الشَّاهِدِينَ

56He said, “Rather, your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, He who originated them, and I am to that a witness.

٥٧وَتَاللَّهِ لَأَكِيدَنَّ أَصْنَامَكُمْ بَعْدَ أَنْ تُوَلُّوا مُدْبِرِينَ

57By God, I will surely plot against your idols after you turn your backs.”

٥٨فَجَعَلَهُمْ جُذَاذًا إِلَّا كَبِيرًا لَهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِ يَرْجِعُونَ

58So he smashed them to pieces, all except the largest of them, so that they might turn to it.

٥٩قَالُوا مَنْ فَعَلَ هَٰذَا بِآلِهَتِنَا إِنَّهُ لَمِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ

59They said, “Who did this to our gods? He is surely among the wrongdoers.”

٦٠قَالُوا سَمِعْنَا فَتًى يَذْكُرُهُمْ يُقَالُ لَهُ إِبْرَاهِيمُ

60They said, “We heard a young man mentioning them; he is called Abraham.”

٦١قَالُوا فَأْتُوا بِهِ عَلَىٰ أَعْيُنِ النَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَشْهَدُونَ

61They said, “Bring him before the people’s eyes so they may witness.”

٦٢قَالُوا أَأَنْتَ فَعَلْتَ هَٰذَا بِآلِهَتِنَا يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ

62They said, “Was it you who did this to our gods, O Abraham?”

٦٣قَالَ بَلْ فَعَلَهُ كَبِيرُهُمْ هَٰذَا فَاسْأَلُوهُمْ إِنْ كَانُوا يَنْطِقُونَ

63He said, “Rather, this largest of them did it. So ask them, if they can speak.”

٦٤فَرَجَعُوا إِلَىٰ أَنْفُسِهِمْ فَقَالُوا إِنَّكُمْ أَنْتُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ

64So they turned to themselves and said, “Truly, you yourselves are the wrongdoers.”

٦٥ثُمَّ نُكِسُوا عَلَىٰ رُءُوسِهِمْ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا هَٰؤُلَاءِ يَنْطِقُونَ

65Then they were turned back on their heads: “You well know these do not speak.”

٦٦قَالَ أَفَتَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنْفَعُكُمْ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَضُرُّكُمْ

66He said, “Do you then worship, instead of God, what does not benefit you at all nor harm you?

٦٧أُفٍّ لَكُمْ وَلِمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ ۖ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

67Shame on you and on what you worship instead of God! Will you not reason?”

٦٨قَالُوا حَرِّقُوهُ وَانْصُرُوا آلِهَتَكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ فَاعِلِينَ

68They said, “Burn him and support your gods, if you are going to act.”

٦٩قُلْنَا يَا نَارُ كُونِي بَرْدًا وَسَلَامًا عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ

69We said, “O fire, be coolness and safety for Abraham.”

٧٠وَأَرَادُوا بِهِ كَيْدًا فَجَعَلْنَاهُمُ الْأَخْسَرِينَ

70They intended a plot against him, but We made them the greatest losers.

٧١وَنَجَّيْنَاهُ وَلُوطًا إِلَى الْأَرْضِ الَّتِي بَارَكْنَا فِيهَا لِلْعَالَمِينَ

71And We delivered him and Lot to the land We had blessed for all peoples.

٧٢وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ إِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ نَافِلَةً ۖ وَكُلًّا جَعَلْنَا صَالِحِينَ

72And We granted him Isaac, and Jacob as an extra gift, and each of them We made righteous.

٧٣وَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ أَئِمَّةً يَهْدُونَ بِأَمْرِنَا وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْهِمْ فِعْلَ الْخَيْرَاتِ وَإِقَامَ الصَّلَاةِ وَإِيتَاءَ الزَّكَاةِ ۖ وَكَانُوا لَنَا عَابِدِينَ

73And We made them leaders guiding by Our command, and We inspired them to do good deeds, to establish prayer, and to give charity. And they were worshipers of Us.

٧٤وَلُوطًا آتَيْنَاهُ حُكْمًا وَعِلْمًا وَنَجَّيْنَاهُ مِنَ الْقَرْيَةِ الَّتِي كَانَتْ تَعْمَلُ الْخَبَائِثَ ۗ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْمَ سَوْءٍ فَاسِقِينَ

74And Lot—We gave him judgment and knowledge, and We delivered him from the town that practiced abominations. They were truly an evil, defiantly sinful people.

٧٥وَأَدْخَلْنَاهُ فِي رَحْمَتِنَا ۖ إِنَّهُ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ

75And We admitted him into Our mercy. He was truly among the righteous.

٧٦وَنُوحًا إِذْ نَادَىٰ مِنْ قَبْلُ فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ فَنَجَّيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ مِنَ الْكَرْبِ الْعَظِيمِ

76And Noah, when he called out before that—We answered him and delivered him and his family from the great distress.

٧٧وَنَصَرْنَاهُ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْمَ سَوْءٍ فَأَغْرَقْنَاهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

77And We defended him against the people who denied Our signs. They were truly an evil people, so We drowned them all.

٧٨وَدَاوُودَ وَسُلَيْمَانَ إِذْ يَحْكُمَانِ فِي الْحَرْثِ إِذْ نَفَشَتْ فِيهِ غَنَمُ الْقَوْمِ وَكُنَّا لِحُكْمِهِمْ شَاهِدِينَ

78And David and Solomon, when they judged concerning the field when the people’s sheep had strayed into it by night — We were witness to their judgment.

٧٩فَفَهَّمْنَاهَا سُلَيْمَانَ ۚ وَكُلًّا آتَيْنَا حُكْمًا وَعِلْمًا ۚ وَسَخَّرْنَا مَعَ دَاوُودَ الْجِبَالَ يُسَبِّحْنَ وَالطَّيْرَ ۚ وَكُنَّا فَاعِلِينَ

79So We gave Solomon understanding of it, and to each We granted judgment and knowledge. We made the mountains glorify along with David, and the birds. We were the doers of this.

٨٠وَعَلَّمْنَاهُ صَنْعَةَ لَبُوسٍ لَكُمْ لِتُحْصِنَكُمْ مِنْ بَأْسِكُمْ ۖ فَهَلْ أَنْتُمْ شَاكِرُونَ

80And We taught him the craft of armor-making for you, to protect you from your own violence. Will you then be grateful?

٨١وَلِسُلَيْمَانَ الرِّيحَ عَاصِفَةً تَجْرِي بِأَمْرِهِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ الَّتِي بَارَكْنَا فِيهَا ۚ وَكُنَّا بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَالِمِينَ

81And to Solomon We subjected the raging wind, running by his command toward the land We had blessed. We were Knowing of all things.

٨٢وَمِنَ الشَّيَاطِينِ مَنْ يَغُوصُونَ لَهُ وَيَعْمَلُونَ عَمَلًا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَكُنَّا لَهُمْ حَافِظِينَ

82And among the devils were those who dived for him and did other work besides. We were their keepers.

٨٣وَأَيُّوبَ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَأَنْتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ

83And Job, when he called out to his Lord, “Affliction has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.”

٨٤فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ فَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِ مِنْ ضُرٍّ ۖ وَآتَيْنَاهُ أَهْلَهُ وَمِثْلَهُمْ مَعَهُمْ رَحْمَةً مِنْ عِنْدِنَا وَذِكْرَىٰ لِلْعَابِدِينَ

84So We answered him and removed the affliction that was upon him, and We gave him back his family and the like of them with them — a mercy from Us and a reminder for the worshippers.

٨٥وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِدْرِيسَ وَذَا الْكِفْلِ ۖ كُلٌّ مِنَ الصَّابِرِينَ

85And Ishmael, and Enoch, and Dhul-Kifl — each was of the patient.

٨٦وَأَدْخَلْنَاهُمْ فِي رَحْمَتِنَا ۖ إِنَّهُمْ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ

86And We admitted them into Our mercy. They were truly among the righteous.

٨٧وَذَا النُّونِ إِذْ ذَهَبَ مُغَاضِبًا فَظَنَّ أَنْ لَنْ نَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ فَنَادَىٰ فِي الظُّلُمَاتِ أَنْ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ

87And the man of the whale, when he departed in anger and thought We would never constrain him. Then he cried out in the depths of darkness, “There is no god but You! Glory be to You! I was truly among the wrongdoers.”

٨٨فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ وَنَجَّيْنَاهُ مِنَ الْغَمِّ ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُنْجِي الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

88So We answered him and saved him from the anguish. Thus do We save the believers.

٨٩وَزَكَرِيَّا إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُ رَبِّ لَا تَذَرْنِي فَرْدًا وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الْوَارِثِينَ

89And Zechariah, when he called out to his Lord, “My Lord, do not leave me alone, and You are the best of inheritors.”

٩٠فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ يَحْيَىٰ وَأَصْلَحْنَا لَهُ زَوْجَهُ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ وَيَدْعُونَنَا رَغَبًا وَرَهَبًا ۖ وَكَانُوا لَنَا خَاشِعِينَ

90So We answered him and granted him John, and We made his wife fit for him. They used to hasten in good deeds and call upon Us in hope and fear, and they were humble before Us.

٩١وَالَّتِي أَحْصَنَتْ فَرْجَهَا فَنَفَخْنَا فِيهَا مِنْ رُوحِنَا وَجَعَلْنَاهَا وَابْنَهَا آيَةً لِلْعَالَمِينَ

91And she who guarded her chastity — We breathed into her of Our spirit and made her and her son a sign for all peoples.

٩٢إِنَّ هَٰذِهِ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَأَنَا رَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُونِ

92Truly this community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord, so worship Me.

٩٣وَتَقَطَّعُوا أَمْرَهُمْ بَيْنَهُمْ ۖ كُلٌّ إِلَيْنَا رَاجِعُونَ

93But they tore their affair apart among themselves. All will return to Us.

٩٤فَمَنْ يَعْمَلْ مِنَ الصَّالِحَاتِ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَلَا كُفْرَانَ لِسَعْيِهِ وَإِنَّا لَهُ كَاتِبُونَ

94So whoever does righteous deeds while he is a believer — his effort will not be denied, and We are recording it for him.

٩٥وَحَرَامٌ عَلَىٰ قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَاهَا أَنَّهُمْ لَا يَرْجِعُونَ

95It is forbidden for any town We have destroyed that they should ever return.

٩٦حَتَّىٰ إِذَا فُتِحَتْ يَأْجُوجُ وَمَأْجُوجُ وَهُمْ مِنْ كُلِّ حَدَبٍ يَنْسِلُونَ

96Until when Gog and Magog are opened and they pour down from every elevation.

٩٧وَاقْتَرَبَ الْوَعْدُ الْحَقُّ فَإِذَا هِيَ شَاخِصَةٌ أَبْصَارُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يَا وَيْلَنَا قَدْ كُنَّا فِي غَفْلَةٍ مِنْ هَٰذَا بَلْ كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ

97And the true promise draws near — then suddenly the eyes of those who disbelieved will stare in horror: “Woe to us! We were heedless of this — no, we were wrongdoers!”

٩٨إِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ حَصَبُ جَهَنَّمَ أَنْتُمْ لَهَا وَارِدُونَ

98You and what you worship besides God are the fuel of Hell. You will enter it.

٩٩لَوْ كَانَ هَٰؤُلَاءِ آلِهَةً مَا وَرَدُوهَا ۖ وَكُلٌّ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ

99Had these been gods, they would not have entered it. But all will abide in it forever.

١٠٠لَهُمْ فِيهَا زَفِيرٌ وَهُمْ فِيهَا لَا يَسْمَعُونَ

100In it they will have groaning, and in it they will hear nothing.

١٠١إِنَّ الَّذِينَ سَبَقَتْ لَهُمْ مِنَّا الْحُسْنَىٰ أُولَٰئِكَ عَنْهَا مُبْعَدُونَ

101Surely those for whom the finest reward has preceded from Us — they are kept far from it.

١٠٢لَا يَسْمَعُونَ حَسِيسَهَا ۖ وَهُمْ فِي مَا اشْتَهَتْ أَنْفُسُهُمْ خَالِدُونَ

102They will not hear its slightest sound, and they will abide forever in what their souls desire.

١٠٣لَا يَحْزُنُهُمُ الْفَزَعُ الْأَكْبَرُ وَتَتَلَقَّاهُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ هَٰذَا يَوْمُكُمُ الَّذِي كُنْتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ

103The Great Terror will not grieve them, and the angels will receive them: “This is your Day that you were promised.”

١٠٤يَوْمَ نَطْوِي السَّمَاءَ كَطَيِّ السِّجِلِّ لِلْكُتُبِ ۚ كَمَا بَدَأْنَا أَوَّلَ خَلْقٍ نُعِيدُهُ ۚ وَعْدًا عَلَيْنَا ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا فَاعِلِينَ

104The Day We roll up the sky as a scroll rolls up writings. Just as We originated the first creation, We will bring it back—a promise binding upon Us. We will certainly do it.

١٠٥وَلَقَدْ كَتَبْنَا فِي الزَّبُورِ مِنْ بَعْدِ الذِّكْرِ أَنَّ الْأَرْضَ يَرِثُهَا عِبَادِيَ الصَّالِحُونَ

105We wrote in the Psalms, after the Reminder, that the earth will be inherited by My righteous servants.

١٠٦إِنَّ فِي هَٰذَا لَبَلَاغًا لِقَوْمٍ عَابِدِينَ

106Surely in this is a message for a people devoted to worship.

١٠٧وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِلْعَالَمِينَ

107We sent you only as a mercy to all the worlds.

١٠٨قُلْ إِنَّمَا يُوحَىٰ إِلَيَّ أَنَّمَا إِلَٰهُكُمْ إِلَٰهٌ وَاحِدٌ ۖ فَهَلْ أَنْتُمْ مُسْلِمُونَ

108Say, “What is revealed to me is that your God is one God. So will you submit?”

١٠٩فَإِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَقُلْ آذَنْتُكُمْ عَلَىٰ سَوَاءٍ ۖ وَإِنْ أَدْرِي أَقَرِيبٌ أَمْ بَعِيدٌ مَا تُوعَدُونَ

109If they turn away, say, “I have warned you all equally. And I do not know whether what you are promised is near or far.”

١١٠إِنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ مِنَ الْقَوْلِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تَكْتُمُونَ

110He knows what is spoken aloud, and He knows what you conceal.

١١١وَإِنْ أَدْرِي لَعَلَّهُ فِتْنَةٌ لَكُمْ وَمَتَاعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ

111And I do not know—perhaps it is a trial for you and an enjoyment for a time.

١١٢قَالَ رَبِّ احْكُمْ بِالْحَقِّ ۗ وَرَبُّنَا الرَّحْمَٰنُ الْمُسْتَعَانُ عَلَىٰ مَا تَصِفُونَ

112He said, “My Lord, judge in truth.” And our Lord is the Most Merciful, the One whose help is sought against what you claim.
