أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ
Did We not open your chest for you?
The Soothing · ash-Sharh · سورة الشرح · 8 ayahs
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
وَوَضَعْنَا عَنْكَ وِزْرَكَ
And lifted from you your burden.
الَّذِي أَنْقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ
Which broke your back.
وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ
And raised high your mention?
فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا
So truly, with hardship comes ease.
إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا
Truly, with hardship comes ease.
فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَانْصَبْ
So when you are done, toil on.
وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَارْغَبْ
And to your Lord turn your longing.
