Clear Evidence · al-Bayyinah · سورة البينة · 8 ayahs

١لَمْ يَكُنِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ وَالْمُشْرِكِينَ مُنْفَكِّينَ حَتَّىٰ تَأْتِيَهُمُ الْبَيِّنَةُ

1Those who disbelieved among the People of the Book and the polytheists were not going to desist until the clear proof came to them.

٢رَسُولٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ يَتْلُو صُحُفًا مُطَهَّرَةً

2A messenger from God, reciting purified scrolls.

٣فِيهَا كُتُبٌ قَيِّمَةٌ

3In them are upright scriptures.

٤وَمَا تَفَرَّقَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ إِلَّا مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَتْهُمُ الْبَيِّنَةُ

4Those who were given the Book did not divide except after the clear proof had come to them.

٥وَمَا أُمِرُوا إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ حُنَفَاءَ وَيُقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَيُؤْتُوا الزَّكَاةَ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ دِينُ الْقَيِّمَةِ

5They were commanded only to worship God, devoting the religion sincerely to Him, as monotheists, and to establish prayer and give charity. That is the upright religion.

٦إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ وَالْمُشْرِكِينَ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ هُمْ شَرُّ الْبَرِيَّةِ

6Truly, those who disbelieved among the People of the Book and the polytheists are in the fire of Hell, abiding there forever. Those are the worst of creation.

٧إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ أُولَٰئِكَ هُمْ خَيْرُ الْبَرِيَّةِ

7Truly, those who believed and did righteous deeds — those are the best of creation.

٨جَزَاؤُهُمْ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّاتُ عَدْنٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا ۖ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا عَنْهُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَنْ خَشِيَ رَبَّهُ

8Their reward with their Lord is Gardens of Eternity beneath which rivers flow, abiding there forever. God is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him. That is for whoever feared his Lord.
