Whoever invokes another god besides Allah—he has no proof thereof—his reckoning rests with his Lord. The disbelievers will not succeed.

Whoever invokes another god besides God—he has no proof thereof—his reckoning rests with his Lord. The disbelievers will not succeed.
Whoever prays to another god besides Allah, without any proof, will have to answer to his Lord. Those who don't believe will never succeed.
Whoever worships another god besides Allah — with no proof for it — will surely answer to his Lord. The disbelievers will never succeed.
Whoever calls upon another god alongside God—he has no proof of it—his reckoning is only with his Lord. Surely the disbelievers will not succeed.

And whoever invokes (or worships), besides Allâh, any other ilâh (god), of whom he has no proof; then his reckoning is only with his Lord. Surely! Al-Kâfirûn (the disbelievers in Allâh and in the Oneness of Allâh, polytheists, pagans, idolaters) will not be successful.
