O you who believe! Do not befriend those who take your religion in mockery and as a sport, be they from among those who were given the Scripture before you, or the disbelievers. And obey God, if you are believers.
Believers, don't choose as close friends those who make fun of your religion and treat it like a game. This means people who got the Book before you and people who don't believe in Allah. Be careful to obey Allah, if you're true believers.
Believers, don't take as allies those who treat your religion as a joke or a game — whether they're from the People of the Book before you or those who reject the truth. Always be mindful of Allah if you're true believers.
