If you fear treachery on the part of a people, break off with them in a like manner. Allah does not like the treacherous.

If you fear treachery on the part of a people, break off with them in a like manner. God does not like the treacherous.
If you're worried that some people might break their promise, tell them clearly that the promise is over. Allah doesn't love those who break promises.
If you fear betrayal from a group, end your agreement with them openly and fairly — Allah does not love those who betray.
And if you fear treachery from a people, cast their treaty back to them on equal terms. Truly, God does not love the treacherous.
And if you fear treachery from a people, break off with them in like manner. Allah does not like the betrayers.

If you [have reason to] fear from a people betrayal, throw [their treaty] back to them, [putting you] on equal terms. Indeed, Allāh does not like traitors.
If you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) fear treachery from any people throw back (their covenant) to them (so as to be) on equal terms (that there will be no more covenant between you and them). Certainly Allâh likes not the treacherous.
