And a proclamation from Allah and His Messenger to the people on the day of the Greater Pilgrimage, that Allah has disowned the polytheists, and so did His Messenger. If you repent, it will be better for you. But if you turn away, know that you cannot escape Allah. And announce to those who disbelieve a painful punishment.

And this is an announcement from Allah and His Messenger to all people on the day of the great pilgrimage: Allah and His Messenger have nothing to do with the idol-worshipers anymore. So if you say sorry and change your ways, that's better for you. But if you turn away, remember you can't escape from Allah. And tell those who don't believe they'll have a painful punishment.
