١الرَّحْمَٰنُ

1The Most Merciful.

٢عَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ

2He taught the Quran.

٣خَلَقَ الْإِنْسَانَ

3He created the human being.

٤عَلَّمَهُ الْبَيَانَ

4He taught him clear expression.

٥الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍ

5The sun and the moon follow a precise reckoning.

٦وَالنَّجْمُ وَالشَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ

6The stars and the trees bow down.

٧وَالسَّمَاءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ الْمِيزَانَ

7The sky — He raised it and set the balance.

٨أَلَّا تَطْغَوْا فِي الْمِيزَانِ

8That you not transgress in the balance.

٩وَأَقِيمُوا الْوَزْنَ بِالْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا الْمِيزَانَ

9So establish weight with justice and do not short the balance.

١٠وَالْأَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلْأَنَامِ

10The earth — He laid it down for all living creatures.

١١فِيهَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَالنَّخْلُ ذَاتُ الْأَكْمَامِ

11In it are fruits and palm trees with sheathed clusters.

١٢وَالْحَبُّ ذُو الْعَصْفِ وَالرَّيْحَانُ

12And grain with husks and fragrant herbs.

١٣فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

13So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

١٤خَلَقَ الْإِنْسَانَ مِنْ صَلْصَالٍ كَالْفَخَّارِ

14He created the human being from dried clay like pottery.

١٥وَخَلَقَ الْجَانَّ مِنْ مَارِجٍ مِنْ نَارٍ

15And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire.

١٦فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

16So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

١٧رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقَيْنِ وَرَبُّ الْمَغْرِبَيْنِ

17Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests.

١٨فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

18So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

١٩مَرَجَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيَانِ

19He released the two seas, meeting one another.

٢٠بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌ لَا يَبْغِيَانِ

20Between them is a barrier they do not overrun.

٢١فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

21So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٢٢يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُمَا اللُّؤْلُؤُ وَالْمَرْجَانُ

22From them both emerge pearls and coral.

٢٣فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

23So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٢٤وَلَهُ الْجَوَارِ الْمُنْشَآتُ فِي الْبَحْرِ كَالْأَعْلَامِ

24And His are the ships, raised high in the sea like mountains.

٢٥فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

25So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٢٦كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍ

26Everyone upon it will perish.

٢٧وَيَبْقَىٰ وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ

27But the face of your Lord will remain — full of majesty and honor.

٢٨فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

28So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٢٩يَسْأَلُهُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِي شَأْنٍ

29Everyone in the heavens and the earth asks of Him. Every day He is in a matter.

٣٠فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

30So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٣١سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَ الثَّقَلَانِ

31We will attend to you, O two weighty beings.

٣٢فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

32So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٣٣يَا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ تَنْفُذُوا مِنْ أَقْطَارِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ فَانْفُذُوا ۚ لَا تَنْفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلْطَانٍ

33O assembly of jinn and humans, if you can pass beyond the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass. You will not pass except with authority.

٣٤فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

34So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٣٥يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَاظٌ مِنْ نَارٍ وَنُحَاسٌ فَلَا تَنْتَصِرَانِ

35There will be sent upon you both a flame of fire and molten copper, and you will not be helped.

٣٦فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

36So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٣٧فَإِذَا انْشَقَّتِ السَّمَاءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَالدِّهَانِ

37When the sky splits open and turns crimson like oil.

٣٨فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

38So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٣٩فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَا يُسْأَلُ عَنْ ذَنْبِهِ إِنْسٌ وَلَا جَانٌّ

39On that Day no human or jinn will be asked about his sin.

٤٠فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

40So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٤١يُعْرَفُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسِيمَاهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِالنَّوَاصِي وَالْأَقْدَامِ

41The criminals will be recognized by their marks, and they will be seized by their forelocks and their feet.

٤٢فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

42So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٤٣هَٰذِهِ جَهَنَّمُ الَّتِي يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا الْمُجْرِمُونَ

43This is Hell, which the criminals denied.

٤٤يَطُوفُونَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمِيمٍ آنٍ

44They will circle between it and scalding water, seething hot.

٤٥فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

45So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٤٦وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ جَنَّتَانِ

46But for whoever feared standing before his Lord — two gardens.

٤٧فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

47So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٤٨ذَوَاتَا أَفْنَانٍ

48Both with spreading branches.

٤٩فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

49So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٥٠فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ تَجْرِيَانِ

50In them both are two flowing springs.

٥١فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

51So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٥٢فِيهِمَا مِنْ كُلِّ فَاكِهَةٍ زَوْجَانِ

52In them both are two kinds of every fruit.

٥٣فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

53So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٥٤مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَىٰ فُرُشٍ بَطَائِنُهَا مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ ۚ وَجَنَى الْجَنَّتَيْنِ دَانٍ

54Reclining on couches lined with thick brocade, and the fruit of both gardens hanging near.

٥٥فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

55So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٥٦فِيهِنَّ قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنْسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَانٌّ

56In them are women of modest gaze, untouched before them by any human or jinn.

٥٧فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

57So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٥٨كَأَنَّهُنَّ الْيَاقُوتُ وَالْمَرْجَانُ

58As if they were rubies and coral.

٥٩فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

59So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٦٠هَلْ جَزَاءُ الْإِحْسَانِ إِلَّا الْإِحْسَانُ

60Is the reward of excellence anything but excellence?

٦١فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

61So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٦٢وَمِنْ دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ

62And besides those two, two other gardens.

٦٣فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

63So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٦٤مُدْهَامَّتَانِ

64Dark green.

٦٥فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

65So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٦٦فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ

66In them both are two gushing springs.

٦٧فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

67So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٦٨فِيهِمَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَنَخْلٌ وَرُمَّانٌ

68In them both are fruits, and palm trees, and pomegranates.

٦٩فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

69So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٧٠فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ

70In them are good and beautiful women.

٧١فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

71So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٧٢حُورٌ مَقْصُورَاتٌ فِي الْخِيَامِ

72Fair ones, sheltered in pavilions.

٧٣فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

73So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٧٤لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنْسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَانٌّ

74Untouched before them by any human or jinn.

٧٥فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

75So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٧٦مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَىٰ رَفْرَفٍ خُضْرٍ وَعَبْقَرِيٍّ حِسَانٍ

76Reclining on green cushions and fine beautiful carpets.

٧٧فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

77So which of your Lord’s blessings will you two deny?

٧٨تَبَارَكَ اسْمُ رَبِّكَ ذِي الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ

78Blessed is the name of your Lord, full of majesty and honor.
