A Book sent down to you — so let there be no discomfort in your chest about it — that you may warn with it, and as a reminder for the believers.
Follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord, and do not follow protectors besides Him. How little you remember.
How many a town We destroyed — Our might came upon it by night or while they rested at midday.
Their only plea when Our might came upon them was to say, “We were wrongdoers.”
We will surely question those to whom messengers were sent, and We will surely question the messengers.
We will surely narrate to them with knowledge, for We were never absent.
The weighing on that Day is true. Those whose scales are heavy — they are the successful.
Those whose scales are light — they are the ones who lost their souls for the wrong they did to Our signs.
We established you on the earth and made for you livelihoods in it. How little you give thanks.
Truly We created you, then shaped you, then said to the angels, “Prostrate to Adam.” So they prostrated, except Iblis — he was not among those who prostrated.
He said, “What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you?” He said, “I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay.”
He said, “Then descend from it, for it is not for you to be arrogant in it. So get out — you are among the disgraced.”
He said, “Grant me respite until the Day they are resurrected.”
He said, “You are among those granted respite.”
He said, “Because You led me astray, I will surely sit in wait for them on Your straight path.
Then I will come at them from before them and from behind them, and from their right and from their left, and You will not find most of them grateful.”
He said, “Get out of it, despised and banished. Whoever among them follows you — I will surely fill Hell with all of you.”
“O Adam, dwell — you and your wife — in the Garden. Eat from wherever you wish, but do not approach this tree, or you will be among the wrongdoers.”
Then Satan whispered to them to expose what had been hidden from them of their nakedness, and he said, “Your Lord only forbade you this tree lest you become angels or become immortal.”
And he swore to them, “I am truly a sincere advisor to you both.”
So he lured them with deception. And when they tasted the tree, their nakedness became exposed to them, and they began covering themselves with leaves from the Garden. And their Lord called out to them, “Did I not forbid you from that tree and tell you that Satan is a clear enemy to you both?”
They said, “Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we will surely be among the losers.”
He said, “Descend, some of you enemies to others. And on earth you will have a dwelling and provision for a time.”
He said, “In it you will live, and in it you will die, and from it you will be brought out.”
O Children of Adam, We have sent down to you clothing to cover your nakedness and as adornment. But the clothing of righteousness — that is better. That is one of God’s signs, so that they may remember.
O Children of Adam, do not let Satan tempt you as he drove your parents out of the Garden, stripping them of their clothing to expose their nakedness to them. He sees you — he and his tribe — from where you do not see them. We have made the devils allies of those who do not believe.
When they commit an indecency, they say, “We found our fathers doing it, and God commanded us to do it.” Say, “God does not command indecency. Do you say about God what you do not know?”
Say, “My Lord has commanded justice. Set your faces at every place of worship and call upon Him, devoting your faith sincerely to Him. As He originated you, so you will return.”
A group He guided, and upon a group misguidance was justly decreed. They took the devils as allies instead of God, and they think they are guided.
O Children of Adam, take your adornment at every place of worship, and eat and drink, but do not be excessive. He does not love the excessive.
Say, “Who has forbidden the adornment God has produced for His servants and the good things of provision?” Say, “They are for those who believe in the life of this world, and exclusively theirs on the Day of Resurrection.” Thus We detail the verses for people who know.
Say, “My Lord has only forbidden indecencies — what is apparent of them and what is hidden — and sin, and unjust aggression, and that you associate with God what He has sent down no authority for, and that you say about God what you do not know.”
For every nation is an appointed term. When their term arrives, they cannot delay it by a single hour, nor can they advance it.
O Children of Adam, if messengers from among you come to you recounting My verses to you — then whoever is God-conscious and does right, no fear will be upon them, nor will they grieve.
But those who denied Our verses and were arrogant toward them — those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide in it forever.
Who is more unjust than one who fabricates lies about God or denies His verses? Those will receive their share from the Book, until, when Our messengers come to take their souls, they say, “Where are those you used to call upon besides God?” They say, “They have abandoned us,” and they testify against themselves that they were disbelievers.
He says, “Enter the Fire among nations of jinn and humans that passed before you.” Every time a nation enters, it curses its sister, until, when they have all gathered together in it, the last of them says of the first, “Our Lord, these are the ones who led us astray, so give them a double punishment of the Fire.” He says, “For each is double, but you do not know.”
The first of them says to the last, “You had no advantage over us, so taste the punishment for what you used to earn.”
Truly, those who denied Our verses and were too arrogant for them — the gates of heaven will not be opened for them, nor will they enter Paradise until a camel passes through the eye of a needle. That is how We recompense the criminals.
For them is a bed of Hell, and above them are coverings. That is how We recompense the wrongdoers.
Those who believe and do righteous deeds — We do not burden any soul beyond its capacity — those are the people of Paradise; they will abide there forever.
We will have removed whatever resentment is in their hearts. Rivers flow beneath them, and they say, “Praise be to God, who guided us to this. We would never have been guided had God not guided us. Certainly, our Lord’s messengers came with the truth.” And they are called, “This is the Paradise you have been made to inherit for what you used to do.”
The people of Paradise call out to the people of the Fire, “We have found what our Lord promised us to be true. Have you found what your Lord promised to be true?” They say, “Yes.” Then a caller announces among them, “God’s curse is upon the wrongdoers.
Those who turn others from God’s path and seek to make it crooked, and who deny the Hereafter.”
Between them is a barrier, and on the Heights are men who recognize everyone by their marks. They call out to the people of Paradise, “Peace be upon you.” They have not yet entered it, though they long to.
When their eyes are turned toward the people of the Fire, they say, “Our Lord, do not place us among the wrongdoing people.”
The people of the Heights call out to men they recognize by their marks, saying, “Your accumulating has not availed you, nor has your arrogance.
Are these the ones you swore God would never reach with mercy? Enter Paradise — no fear upon you, nor will you grieve.”
The people of the Fire called out to the people of the Garden, “Pour some water on us, or some of what God has provided you.” They said, “God has forbidden both to the disbelievers.”
Those who took their religion as amusement and play, and whom the worldly life deluded. So today We forget them just as they forgot the meeting of this Day of theirs, and as they used to reject Our signs.
Certainly We brought them a Book that We detailed with knowledge — a guidance and a mercy for people who believe.
Are they waiting for anything but its fulfillment? The Day its fulfillment comes, those who had forgotten it before will say, “Our Lord’s messengers did come with the truth. Are there any intercessors for us to intercede on our behalf, or could we be sent back so we might act differently from what we used to do?” They have truly lost themselves, and what they used to fabricate has abandoned them.
Truly your Lord is God, who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then rose over the Throne. He covers the day with the night, chasing it relentlessly. And the sun, the moon, and the stars are subjected by His command. To Him belong creation and command. Blessed is God, Lord of all worlds.
Call upon your Lord humbly and in secret. He does not love the transgressors.
Do not spread corruption on the earth after it has been set right. Call upon Him in fear and hope. Surely God’s mercy is near to those who do good.
It is He who sends the winds as glad tidings before His mercy. When they carry heavy clouds, We drive them to a dead land, then We send down water through them, and We bring out every kind of fruit through it. Thus We bring out the dead, so that you may reflect.
The good land — its vegetation comes out by its Lord’s permission. But the bad produces nothing but scarcity. Thus We vary the verses for people who give thanks.
We sent Noah to his people, and he said, “O my people, worship God. You have no god other than Him. I fear for you the punishment of a tremendous Day.”
The chiefs of his people said, “We surely see you in clear error.”
He said, “O my people, there is no error in me, but I am a messenger from the Lord of all worlds.
I deliver to you the messages of my Lord and advise you, and I know from God what you do not know.
Are you astonished that a reminder has come to you from your Lord through a man from among you, to warn you and so that you may be mindful, and so that you may be shown mercy?”
But they denied him, so We saved him and those with him in the ark, and We drowned those who denied Our signs. They were truly a blind people.
And to Ad, their brother Hud. He said, “O my people, worship God. You have no god other than Him. Will you not be mindful?”
The chiefs who disbelieved among his people said, “We surely see you in foolishness, and we certainly think you are among the liars.”
He said, “O my people, there is no foolishness in me, but I am a messenger from the Lord of all worlds.
I deliver to you the messages of my Lord, and I am a trustworthy advisor to you.
Are you astonished that a reminder has come to you from your Lord through a man from among you, to warn you? And remember when He made you successors after the people of Noah and increased you in stature. So remember God’s blessings, that you may prosper.”
They said, “Have you come to us so that we worship God alone and abandon what our fathers used to worship? Then bring us what you threaten us with, if you are among the truthful.”
He said, “Defilement and wrath from your Lord have already fallen upon you. Do you argue with me over names that you and your fathers have coined, for which God has sent down no authority? Then wait; I am with you among those who wait.”
So We saved him and those with him by a mercy from Us, and We cut off the last remnant of those who denied Our verses. They were never believers.
To Thamud We sent their brother Salih. He said, “O my people, worship God. You have no god other than Him. A clear proof has come to you from your Lord. This is God’s she-camel, a sign for you. So leave her to graze in God’s land, and do not touch her with harm, or a painful punishment will seize you.
Remember when He made you successors after Ad and settled you in the land — you build palaces on its plains and carve houses from the mountains. So remember God’s blessings and do not spread corruption in the land.”
The arrogant chiefs of his people said to those who were oppressed — to those among them who believed, “Do you know that Salih is sent by his Lord?” They said, “We believe in what he has been sent with.”
Those who were arrogant said, “We reject what you believe in.”
So they hamstrung the she-camel and defied their Lord’s command and said, “O Salih, bring us what you threaten us with, if you are truly one of the messengers.”
So the earthquake seized them, and by morning they lay lifeless in their homes.
He turned away from them and said, “O my people, I delivered my Lord’s message to you and gave you sincere counsel, but you do not love those who give sincere counsel.”
And Lot, when he said to his people, “Do you commit an obscenity that no one in all the world has committed before you?
You approach men with desire instead of women. No, you are a people of excess.”
His people’s only response was to say, “Drive them out of your town. They are people who keep themselves pure!”
So We saved him and his family, except his wife — she was among those who stayed behind.
And We rained upon them a rain. So look at what became of the criminals.
To Midian We sent their brother Shuayb. He said, “O my people, worship God — you have no god other than Him. A clear proof has come to you from your Lord. So give full measure and weight, and do not shortchange people of their things, and do not spread corruption in the land after it has been set right. That is better for you, if you are believers.
Do not sit on every path, threatening and turning away from God’s path those who believe in Him, seeking to make it crooked. Remember when you were few and He multiplied you, and look at what became of the corrupters.
If a group among you believes in what I have been sent with and a group does not believe, then be patient until God judges between us. He is the best of judges.”
The arrogant chiefs among his people said, “We will surely drive you out, O Shuayb, you and those who believe with you, from our town, or you will return to our creed.” He said, “Even if we are unwilling?
We would be fabricating a lie against God if we returned to your creed after God has saved us from it. It is not for us to return to it unless God our Lord wills. Our Lord encompasses all things in knowledge. In God we place our trust. Our Lord, judge between us and our people in truth, for You are the best of judges.”
The disbelieving chiefs among his people said, “If you follow Shuayb, you will surely be losers.”
So the earthquake seized them, and by morning they lay lifeless in their homes.
Those who denied Shuayb — as though they had never lived there. Those who denied Shuayb — they were the losers.
He turned away from them and said, “O my people, I delivered to you my Lord’s messages and advised you sincerely. So how could I grieve for a disbelieving people?”
We never sent a prophet to any town without afflicting its people with hardship and adversity, so that they might humble themselves.
Then We replaced the bad with good, until they grew abundant and said, “Hardship and prosperity touched our fathers too.” So We seized them suddenly while they were unaware.
Had the people of those towns believed and been mindful, We would have opened upon them blessings from the sky and the earth. But they denied, so We seized them for what they used to earn.
Do the people of the towns feel secure that Our punishment will not come upon them at night while they sleep?
Or do the people of the towns feel secure that Our punishment will not come upon them in the morning while they play?
Do they feel secure from God’s plan? None feels secure from God’s plan except the losing people.
Has it not become clear to those who inherit the land after its people that, had We willed, We could have struck them for their sins? We seal their hearts, so they do not hear.
Those are the towns whose accounts We relate to you. Their messengers came to them with clear proofs, but they were never going to believe in what they had denied before. Thus does God seal the hearts of the disbelievers.
We found no commitment in most of them. We found most of them truly corrupt.
Then, after them, We sent Moses with Our miracles to Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they dealt unjustly with them. So see how the corrupters ended.
Moses said, “O Pharaoh, I am a messenger from the Lord of all worlds.
Duty-bound to say nothing about God but the truth. I have come to you with a clear proof from your Lord, so send the Children of Israel with me.”
He said, “If you have come with a miracle, then produce it, if you are truthful.”
So he cast his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent, plain for all to see.
And he drew out his hand, and suddenly it was white for the onlookers.
The chiefs of Pharaoh’s people said, “This is certainly a skilled sorcerer.
He wants to drive you out of your land. So what do you advise?”
They said, “Delay him and his brother, and send gatherers into the cities.
To bring you every skilled sorcerer.”
The sorcerers came to Pharaoh and said, “Surely there will be a reward for us if we are the victors?”
He said, “Yes, and you will be among those brought near.”
They said, “O Moses, either you throw, or we will be the ones to throw.”
He said, “Throw.” And when they threw, they bewitched the people’s eyes and terrified them, and they produced a great sorcery.
We revealed to Moses, “Throw your staff,” and at once it swallowed up what they were fabricating.
So the truth prevailed, and what they had been doing was nullified.
So they were defeated there and turned away humiliated.
The sorcerers fell down in prostration.
They said, “We believe in the Lord of all worlds.
The Lord of Moses and Aaron.”
Pharaoh said, “You believed in him before I gave you permission? This is a plot you have hatched in the city to drive its people out. Soon you will know.
I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, then I will crucify you all!”
They said, “To our Lord we are returning.
You only take revenge on us because we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us. Our Lord, pour patience upon us and take us in submission.”
The chiefs of Pharaoh’s people said, “Will you leave Moses and his people to spread corruption in the land and abandon you and your gods?” He said, “We will slaughter their sons and keep their women alive. We hold power over them.”
Moses said to his people, “Seek help from God and be patient. The earth belongs to God — He grants it to whomever He wills among His servants, and the outcome belongs to the God-conscious.”
They said, “We were harmed before you came to us and after you came to us.” He said, “Perhaps your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you successors in the land, then see how you act.”
Certainly We seized Pharaoh’s people with years of drought and shortage of fruits, so that they might take heed.
But when good came to them, they said, “This is ours.” And if misfortune struck them, they blamed it on Moses and those with him. Truly their ill omen lies only with God, but most of them do not know.
They said, “Whatever sign you bring us to bewitch us with, we will never believe in you.”
So We sent upon them the flood, the locusts, the lice, the frogs, and the blood—distinct signs—yet they were arrogant and were a criminal people.
And when the plague fell upon them, they said, “O Moses, call upon your Lord for us by what He has pledged with you. If you lift this plague from us, we will surely believe in you and send the Children of Israel with you.”
But when We lifted the plague from them for a term they were to reach, at once they broke their word.
So We took vengeance on them and drowned them in the sea, because they denied Our signs and were heedless of them.
And We made the people who had been oppressed inherit the eastern and western lands which We had blessed. And your Lord’s gracious word was fulfilled for the Children of Israel because they were patient. And We destroyed what Pharaoh and his people had built and what they used to erect.
And We brought the Children of Israel across the sea, and they came upon a people devoted to idols of theirs. They said, “O Moses, make for us a god just as they have gods.” He said, “You are truly a people acting in ignorance.
What these people are engaged in is doomed to destruction, and worthless is what they have been doing.”
He said, “Should I seek for you a god other than God, when He has favored you over all peoples?”
Remember when We saved you from Pharaoh’s people, who were inflicting on you the worst torment—slaughtering your sons and sparing your women. In that was a tremendous trial from your Lord.
We appointed for Moses thirty nights and completed them with ten, so his Lord’s appointed term was fulfilled at forty nights. Moses said to his brother Aaron, “Take my place among my people, set things right, and do not follow the way of the corrupters.”
When Moses came at Our appointed time and his Lord spoke to him, he said, “My Lord, show Yourself to me so I may look at You.” He said, “You will never see Me, but look at the mountain—if it remains firm in its place, then you will see Me.” When his Lord manifested Himself to the mountain, He leveled it, and Moses fell unconscious. When he recovered, he said, “Glory be to You! I repent to You, and I am the first of the believers.”
He said, “O Moses, I have chosen you above all people with My messages and My speech. So take what I have given you and be among the grateful.”
We inscribed for him on the Tablets instruction on all things and a detailed explanation of everything: “Hold on to them firmly and command your people to adopt the best of them. I will show you the home of the defiantly disobedient.”
I will turn away from My signs those who are arrogant on earth without right. Even if they see every sign, they will not believe in it. If they see the path of guidance, they will not take it as a path, but if they see the path of error, they will take it as a path. That is because they denied Our signs and were heedless of them.
Those who denied Our signs and the meeting of the Hereafter—their deeds have come to nothing. Will they be repaid for anything but what they used to do?
Moses’s people, after he left, made from their jewelry a calf—a body that lowed. Did they not see that it neither spoke to them nor guided them to any path? They took it up, and they were wrongdoers.
When remorse fell into their hands and they saw that they had gone astray, they said, “If our Lord does not have mercy on us and forgive us, we will surely be among the losers.”
When Moses returned to his people, angry and grieved, he said, “What a wretched way you succeeded me after I left! Did you rush your Lord’s command?” He threw down the tablets and seized his brother by the head, dragging him toward himself. He said, “Son of my mother, the people overpowered me and nearly killed me, so do not let the enemies gloat over me, and do not count me among the wrongdoing people.”
He said, “My Lord, forgive me and my brother, and admit us into Your mercy. You are the most merciful of the merciful.”
Those who took up the calf—wrath from their Lord will reach them, and humiliation in the life of this world. That is how We recompense the fabricators.
But those who committed evil deeds then repented after that and believed—truly your Lord, after that, is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
When the anger subsided from Moses, he picked up the tablets. In their text was guidance and mercy for those who stand in awe of their Lord.
Moses chose from his people seventy men for Our appointed time. When the quaking seized them, he said, “My Lord, had You willed, You could have destroyed them before, and me as well. Will You destroy us for what the fools among us have done? It is only Your trial—You lead astray by it whom You will and guide whom You will. You are our Protector, so forgive us and have mercy on us. You are the best of forgivers.
And decree for us good in this world and in the Hereafter. We have turned to You.” He said, “My punishment—I strike with it whom I will, but My mercy encompasses all things. I will decree it for the mindful who give charity, and who believe in Our verses.”
Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find written of in the Torah and the Gospel — he commands them to what is right and forbids them from what is wrong, makes lawful for them the good things and makes unlawful for them the foul things, and lifts from them their burden and the shackles that were upon them. So those who believe in him, honor him, support him, and follow the light that was sent down with him — those are the successful.
Say, “O people, I am God’s Messenger to you all — He to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. There is no god but He. He gives life and causes death. So believe in God and His Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, who believes in God and His words, and follow him, that you may be guided.”
Among Moses’s people is a community that guides by the truth and by it acts justly.
We divided them into twelve tribes as nations. And We revealed to Moses when his people asked him for water, “Strike the rock with your staff.” So twelve springs gushed from it. Each group knew its drinking place. And We shaded them with clouds and sent down upon them manna and quails. “Eat from the good things We have provided you.” They did not wrong Us, but they used to wrong themselves.
And they were told, “Settle in this town and eat from it wherever you wish, and say ‘Relieve us,’ and enter the gate in prostration — We will forgive you your sins. We will give more to those who do good.”
But those among them who did wrong substituted a word other than what they were told, so We sent upon them a plague from the sky for the wrong they used to do.
Ask them about the town that stood by the sea — when they transgressed on the Sabbath. Their fish would come to them surfacing on the day of their Sabbath, but on the day they did not observe the Sabbath, they would not come to them. Thus We tested them for their defiance.
When a group among them said, “Why do you admonish a people whom God will destroy or punish with a severe punishment?” They said, “As an excuse before your Lord, and perhaps they may become righteous.”
So when they forgot what they had been reminded of, We saved those who forbade evil and seized those who wronged with a wretched punishment for their defiance.
So when they persisted arrogantly in what they had been forbidden, We said to them, “Be despised apes!”
Your Lord declared that He would surely send against them, until the Day of Resurrection, those who would inflict on them the worst of punishment. Truly your Lord is swift in punishment, yet He is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
We scattered them across the earth as separate communities — among them the righteous, and among them those less than that. We tested them with good times and bad, so that they might return.
Then a generation succeeded them who inherited the Scripture, seizing the gains of this lowly world and saying, “We will be forgiven.” Yet if similar gains come their way, they seize them too. Was not the covenant of the Scripture taken from them that they would say nothing about God but the truth? And they have studied what is in it. The Home of the Hereafter is better for the God-conscious. Do you not reason?
Those who hold fast to the Scripture and establish prayer — We never waste the reward of those who set things right.
When We raised the mountain above them as though it were a canopy, and they thought it would fall upon them: “Hold firmly to what We have given you and remember what is in it, so that you may become righteous.”
When your Lord took from the children of Adam, from their loins, their descendants and made them testify against themselves: “Am I not your Lord?” They said, “Yes, we testify” — lest you say on the Day of Resurrection, “We were unaware of this.”
Or lest you say, “It was only our forefathers who associated partners before us, and we were merely descendants after them. Will You destroy us for what the falsifiers did?”
Thus We detail the verses, so that they may return.
Recite to them the story of the one to whom We gave Our verses, but he stripped himself of them, so Satan pursued him, and he became one of the deviant.
Had We willed, We would have elevated him through them, but he clung to the earth and followed his own desire. His example is like that of a dog: if you chase it, it pants, and if you leave it, it pants. That is the example of the people who denied Our verses. So relate the stories, that they may reflect.
Wretched is the example of the people who denied Our verses — it was themselves they were wronging.
Whoever God guides is truly guided, and whoever He leads astray — those are the losers.
Certainly We have destined for Hell many of the jinn and humans. They have hearts they do not understand with, they have eyes they do not see with, and they have ears they do not hear with. They are like cattle — rather, they are more astray. Those are the heedless.
To God belong the most beautiful names, so call upon Him by them. And leave those who deviate regarding His names. They will be repaid for what they used to do.
Among those We created is a community that guides by the truth and by it establishes justice.
Those who denied Our verses — We will gradually lead them to ruin from where they do not know.
I will give them time. Truly, My plan is firm.
Have they not reflected? There is no madness in their companion. He is nothing but a clear warner.
Have they not looked into the dominion of the heavens and the earth and everything God has created, and that perhaps their end has drawn near? So in what message after this will they believe?
Whoever God leads astray, there is no guide for him. He leaves them in their transgression, wandering blindly.
They ask you about the Hour — when will it arrive? Say, “Its knowledge is only with my Lord. None will reveal it at its time but He. It weighs heavy upon the heavens and the earth. It will not come upon you except suddenly.” They ask you as if you are well-informed about it. Say, “Its knowledge is only with God, but most people do not know.”
Say, “I have no power to bring benefit or harm to myself, except what God wills. If I knew the unseen, I would have gathered much good, and no harm would have touched me. I am nothing but a warner and a bearer of good news for people who believe.”
It is He who created you from a single soul and made from it its mate, so that he might find comfort in her. When he covered her, she carried a light burden and went about with it. Then when she grew heavy, they both called upon God, their Lord, “If You give us a healthy child, we will surely be among the grateful.”
But when He gave them a healthy child, they made partners for Him in what He had given them. Exalted is God above what they associate with Him.
Do they associate those who create nothing and are themselves created?
They cannot help them, nor can they help themselves.
If you call them to guidance, they will not follow you. It is the same for you whether you call upon them or you remain silent.
Truly, those you call upon besides God are servants like you. So call upon them and let them respond to you, if you are truthful.
Do they have feet to walk with? Or do they have hands to strike with? Or do they have eyes to see with? Or do they have ears to hear with? Say, “Call upon your partners, then plot against me and give me no respite.”
Surely my protector is God, who sent down the Book. He looks after the righteous.
Those you call upon besides Him cannot help you, nor can they help themselves.
If you call them to guidance, they do not hear. You see them looking at you, yet they do not see.
Hold to forgiveness, command what is right, and turn away from the ignorant.
If a provocation from Satan stirs you, seek refuge in God. Truly, He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
Those who are mindful, when a whisper from Satan touches them, they remember, and at once they see clearly.
But their brothers drag them deeper into error, then they never relent.
When you do not bring them a sign, they say, “Why have you not produced one?” Say, “I only follow what is revealed to me from my Lord. These are insights from your Lord, and guidance and mercy for a people who believe.”
When the Quran is recited, listen to it and be silent, so that you may be shown mercy.
Remember your Lord within yourself, humbly and in fear, in a voice below a shout, morning and evening, and do not be among the heedless.
Truly, those in the presence of your Lord are never too proud to worship Him. They glorify Him, and to Him they prostrate.
