He frowned and turned away.
In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
He frowned and turned away.
Because the blind man came to him.
And what would make you know? Perhaps he would purify himself.
Or remember, and the reminder would benefit him.
As for the one who considers himself self-sufficient.
To him you give your attention.
Though it is not upon you if he does not purify himself.
But as for the one who came to you striving.
And he fears.
From him you are distracted.
No! It is a reminder.
So whoever wills may remember it.
In honored scriptures.
Exalted, purified.
By the hands of scribes.
Noble, righteous.
Cursed is man — how ungrateful he is!
From what thing did He create him?
From a drop He created him, then proportioned him.
Then He eased the path for him.
Then He caused him to die and buried him.
Then when He wills, He will resurrect him.
No! He has not yet fulfilled what He commanded him.
Let man look at his food.
We poured water in abundance.
Then We split the earth open.
And We caused grain to grow in it.
And grapes and fresh herbage.
And olives and palm trees.
And dense gardens.
And fruit and pasture.
A provision for you and your livestock.
Then when the Deafening Blast comes.
The Day a man flees from his brother.
And his mother and his father.
And his wife and his children.
Every one of them that Day will have a matter to preoccupy him.
Faces that Day will be radiant.
Laughing, rejoicing.
And faces that Day will be covered with dust.
Shrouded in darkness.
Those are the disbelievers, the wicked.
