سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى
Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High.
The Most High · al-A'la · سورة الأعلى · 19 ayahs
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
الَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ
He who created and proportioned.
وَالَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ
He who determined and guided.
وَالَّذِي أَخْرَجَ الْمَرْعَىٰ
He who brought out the pasture.
فَجَعَلَهُ غُثَاءً أَحْوَىٰ
Then turned it to dark debris.
سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنْسَىٰ
We will make you recite, and you will not forget.
إِلَّا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ
Except what God wills. He knows what is declared and what is hidden.
وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ
We will ease you to the easiest way.
فَذَكِّرْ إِنْ نَفَعَتِ الذِّكْرَىٰ
So remind, if the reminder benefits.
سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَنْ يَخْشَىٰ
Whoever fears will be reminded.
وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الْأَشْقَى
But the most wretched will avoid it.
الَّذِي يَصْلَى النَّارَ الْكُبْرَىٰ
He who will burn in the greatest Fire.
ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ
Then neither dying in it nor living.
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَنْ تَزَكَّىٰ
Truly successful is he who purifies himself.
وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّىٰ
And remembers the name of his Lord and prays.
بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا
Yet you prefer the life of this world.
وَالْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰ
While the Hereafter is better and more lasting.
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَفِي الصُّحُفِ الْأُولَىٰ
This is surely in the earliest scriptures.
صُحُفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ
The scriptures of Abraham and Moses.
