To make it a lesson for you—so that retaining ears may retain it.

We made this a lesson for you, so listening ears can remember it.

To make it a lesson for you, and so attentive ears would remember it.

So that We might make it a reminder for you, and so that a retentive ear might retain it.

To make it a lesson for you—and so that retaining ears may retain it.

That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it.

That We might make it (Noah’s ship) an admonition for you and that it might be retained by the retaining ears.

so that We might make it a reminder for you, and that attentive ears may take heed.

That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance.

That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember.
