Alas, you love the fleeting life.
But no! You love things that come quickly.
But no — you love this quick, temporary life.
No! But you love the immediate.
Alas! But you love the Fleeting.
Alas! But you love the Fleeting.
No! But you [i.e., mankind] love the immediate
Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but you (men) love the present life of this world,
No indeed! You [people] love this fleeting world,
Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life,
Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now
Truly, you love immediate gain
Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily,
No! Indeed, you love this transitory life
