About QuranWow

QuranWow shows the Quran in Arabic with translations in 69 languages, two texts side by side, ayah by ayah. Choose any two: the Arabic with a translation, two translations, or a translation with a tafsir.

The English translation

The English shown first is ClearQuran, translated by Talal Itani directly from the Arabic. It aims to stay faithful to the Arabic original while reading clearly and smoothly in modern English. It comes in two editions, identical except for one word: one uses “Allah,” the other “God.” It was first published in May 2012 at ClearQuran.com.

About the maker

Talal Itani is a Quran translator, the author of the ClearQuran English translation. He was born in 1961 in Beirut, Lebanon, and came to the United States at 18 to study. An electrical engineer, he founded a telecommunications company. Today he develops Quran websites and apps, and maintains the ClearQuran translation.
